Witajcie!
[ENGLISH VERSION BELOW]
Każdy dzień to walka z bolesną spastycznością, walka o sprawność i samodzielność. To żmudna praca. Niesprawne nogi też potrafią boleć.
Udało mi się zakwalifikować do programu badawczego w Kamieniu Pomorskim. Odbyłem tam bardzo intensywną rehabilitację. Ćwiczyłem m.in. na Lokomacie, czyli urządzeniu stymulującym naukę chodu i wspomagającym funkcje mięśniowo-nerwowe.
– intensywną rehabilitację i masaże w warunkach domowych
Teraz proszę Was o wsparcie. Wiem, że okazane dobro wraca.
Będę wdzięczny.

GET BACK ON THE REAL BIKE
My name is Krzysztof. I’m waiting for the day when I get on the bike again and just go ahead. For the time being, if possible, I train on a stationary bike and devote myself to another passion, which is reading. I read books for which there was not always enough time.
I have been struggling with a disability for the last three years. It started with the loss of leg muscle mass. I did an x-ray. Diagnosis: „critical stenosis of the Th8-Th9-Th10 segments of the spine”. I had a complicated surgery. I was left with paresis from the waist down. I am in a wheelchair now.
Each day is a struggle with painful spasticity, a struggle for fitness and independence. It’s a tedious job. Paralysed legs can also hurt.
I was able to qualify for the research program in Kamien Pomorski, Poland. I went through a very intensive rehabilitation over there. I practiced on the Lokomat (a device that stimulates learning to walk and supports muscular and nervous functions). At the end of the course, the tests showed a slight improvement. There was a little progress. Not much, but still. I can now move my legs a little.
Doctors and physiotherapists say that only constant, systematic rehabilitation can help me get better.
Every day I work with a gymnastic ladder and a system of stretching lines. It is not enough.
That is why I set up a fundraiser to raise funds for:
– intensive rehabilitation and massages at home
– locomotor trainings in the Alto rehabilitation center in Gdansk, Poland
If I could collect the full amount, I would have a year of comprehensive physical therapy secured.
I don’t feel comfortable asking for help, but I need it.
You probably meet such appeals and cases every day. Maybe you think, „Thanks God it’s not me.” Before I sat in the wheelchair, I thought so too.
Now I am asking you for your support. I know that the shown good comes back.
I would be grateful for your help.
